The Story

When organising a child’s party parents do not want to put each other under pressure to buy certain gifts or spend a specific amount and it is totally the enjoyment of our children having fun with their friends which is the reason birthday parties are organised. With this being said I am a parent myself and would never dream of attending a child’s birthday party without taking a present.

I have spent much time trying to think what would be appropriate as a gift for parties my children have been invited to based on a child's name and what appears to be popular at the time! I have tried different methods over time such as asking my children what sort of things their friends like but their suggestions have an uncanny way of ended up being something that they would choose for themselves and happily take off the birthday child's hands should they get the opportunity to!

I have often thought that if I knew what sort of things the child was interested in it would make the process of searching for a present a quicker and more pleasurable experience in a time when a lot of us are pulled in so many different directions and have limited time and energy to use!

There are so many genres and categories of toys nowadays that choosing something that you feel is worth your hard earned cash is definitely not as simple as it first looks. This got me thinking that creating a 'Profile' of a child's interested would be the ideal way for people to communicate with each other what the child is into at that time without feeling as though you are creating a gift list and asking for specific items or certain amounts of money to be spent.

These can be as detailed as the creator wants and can not only supply information to do with the current toys the child is into but other interest such as sports/ reading / films or general items like a particular passion for things like slime through to sequins!

Details can also be added regarding certain shops that the child may enjoy shopping in which allows people the option of voucher purchases being safe in the knowledge that the child would still get enjoyment from going round one of their favorite shops to buy something.

The profile can be shared with whomever the creator may feel would benefit from it from parents of children attending a party to friends or family members that may also be asking for ideas of what to get a child for their birthday.

There is no pressure for the profile to be viewed by the party attendees or way of registering who has or hasn't accessed it, the profile is purely a tool that I would hope would assist people with ideas of what your child is presently interested in.

Every child is different and that is what makes them who they are so creating a profile is a simple and easy way to give others an insight into what your child is interested in and makes searching for a gift for them an easier experience.

If any of this saves you any time or energy then my work is done!
